SHREVEPORT, La. – A Shreveport woman with a history of theft-related offenses was taken into custody Sunday afternoon following an alleged shoplifting incident at a local Walmart store. Authorities say the suspect was accompanied by her young child at the time of the incident.
Police responded shortly after 4 p.m. to the Walmart located at 1645 East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop after receiving a call from the store’s Asset Protection team. According to officials, a loss prevention employee reported observing the woman concealing merchandise while inside the store.
Officers intercepted the suspect as she attempted to leave the store without paying for several items totaling $228.88. During the investigation, authorities confirmed that the woman had previously been issued a lifetime trespass notice from Walmart in October 2022, prohibiting her from entering company properties.
