Bossier students learn real-life finance by buying cars in class

BOSSIER CITY, La. – A business math class at Bossier High School is turning everyday lessons into real-world experience, thanks to teacher Sylvia Cornelius.

“Hey how you doing? I’m here to buy a car.”

That’s how students are greeting each other as Cornelius transforms her classroom into a mock car lot.

Desks are now cars, and students take on roles as buyers, sellers and finance managers while working through the process of purchasing a vehicle…
