SHREVEPORT, LA. (KTAL/KMSS) β Federal prosecutors announced five drug trafficking cases this week involving dozens of defendants and hundreds of kilograms of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl, and they say a Shreveport man led a criminal organization.
U.S. Attorney Zachary Keller and federal investigators say Willie Lee Baker led a criminal organization of at least 10 people, trafficking drugs through Houston before moving them into Shreveport.
βBaker was allegedly one of the main distributors of illegal drugs in North Louisiana,β FBI New Orleans Special Agent in Charge Jonathan Tapp said.
According to court records, he has a criminal history spanning more than 20 years, including prior drug trafficking, weapons charges and violent offenses. Prosecutors say those prior convictions could result in a longer sentence if he is convicted in this case.
