SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) – Shreveport police are hoping to increase their budget so they can add more police units.
The Shreveport Police Department is looking to improve the quality of its police fleet, as many of those units are nearing the end of their life spans.
“You know, every year this comes up about police cars and the purchasing of police cars. And our fleet is aging,” said Chris Bordelon, Shreveport Police Department public information officer. “And as it stands right now, you know, we have 25 cars that we’ve taken delivery of that we are trying to outfit at the moment. And we have an additional 60 that the city is ordering in 2026. So, you know, the outfitting of these vehicles does take a while.”…
