There’s no excuse for parents who hurt their children, but the ones who lie about it and blame the child are true monsters. A 4-year-old girl in Louisiana showed up at an emergency room with multiple bone fractures. Although early reports claimed the child fell from a second-story window, the story didn’t add up. Hospital staff contacted police and learned that the child hadn’t fallen on her own. Instead, her mother, 37-year-old Sharonica Davis, allegedly forced her from the window in a bizarre attack.
The child had several broken bones.
The child was taken to Ochsner Medical Center on April 8, 2026, with fractures to both wrists and forearms, KLFY reported. Bossier City Police Department Sergeant Shawn Poudrier told the news outlet that detectives and Child Protective Services began looking into the child’s injuries. “After the detectives began investigating, they found out that the mother of the child pushed her, kicked her out of the window,” Poudrier said.
Police arrested Davis before learning she allegedly kicked the child out the window.
By the time investigators suspected the mother had forced the 4-year-old out the window, Davis was already in custody at the Caddo Correctional Facility. Police arrested her on multiple charges related to the incident, including cruelty to juveniles, KLFY reported.
As a parent, Poudrier was particularly upset by Davis’ alleged actions. “It’s a sad situation, that’s why I take this so personal,” Poudrier said. “You know, I have three small kids, and you see, this work in these cases takes an emotional toll on you. And you want to try to protect every one of them that you can.” Davis currently awaits extradition to Bossier City.
