Annual Spring Jamboree raises money for Huntington High band

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – It’s that time of the year again: Huntington High School band is gearing up for its annual Spring competition, and they’re inviting the community to join them.

The Raider Jukebox Spring Band/Drumline Jamboree helps the Huntington High School band program pay for band equipment, uniforms, and travel expenses throughout the season.

“A lot of people don’t realize band is expensive,” explained band director Dr. Roderick Jefferson. “Instruments are expensive, moving a band is expensive. Just in February, we played for the halftime for the (New Orleans) Pelicans, and that trip alone was $25,000.”…
