Louisiana casino revenue growing faster than national average, thanks to expansions

Thanks to a series of upgrades that moved some aging riverboat casinos onto land, a $435 million transformation of Caesars New Orleans and a glitzy new casino in Bossier City, Louisiana’s state-regulated gambling halls saw their revenues in 2025 grow well above the national average.

The state’s riverboat casinos, land based gambling halls, race track casinos and sportsbooks brought in $3.05 billion in revenue during 2025, according to the American Gaming Association’s annual State of the States report, which was released last week. That’s a 10.4% increase over the 2024 numbers.

Nationally, commercial gambling brought in $78.6 billion in gross revenue last year, a 9.1% increase over what was brought in during 2024…
