School Break-Ins, Armed Robbery Among Weekend Incidents Reported By MCPD

The Montgomery County Police Department has released its daily crime summaries covering reported incidents from Friday, June 5 through Sunday, June 7.

In the 1st District, which covers Rockville, Potomac and surrounding areas, police reported an auto theft on Maple Avenue in Rockville in which a stolen vehicle was later recovered nearby and two additional vehicles were vandalized. Tires and rims were stolen from two vehicles on Frederick Avenue, and two suspects were arrested after being found inside a vacant apartment on Elmcroft Court. Police also reported an aggravated assault at Richard Montgomery High School where two suspects entered a classroom, pepper sprayed a student and punched her. The student was treated by the school nurse. Over the weekend, officers also arrested three suspects in two separate commercial burglaries at vacant buildings on Research Boulevard.

In the 2nd District, which covers Bethesda, Chevy Chase and Kensington, a motorcycle was stolen and later recovered with damage on East West Highway. Police also reported two separate school-related burglaries on Saturday evening. In one incident on Radnor Road, three juveniles allegedly entered a school through a rear window and discharged a fire extinguisher, causing damage.
