Baltimore Ranked Third Riskiest City In America For Drivers, New Report Finds

— The 2026 America’s Best Drivers Report was recently released by Allstate, offering a look at which cities have the safest roads across the United States. The largest 200 cities were each ranked according to their collision likelihood using insurance data to determine which residents may be the most prone to car crashes. Baltimore ranked as the third riskiest city to drive through in America, while Washington, D.C., took the second-to-last spot on the list.

The latest Allstate report is being released at a time when Maryland is actively trying to reduce crashes and deter illegal behavior on state roads. New initiatives like the “Slow The Fast Down” campaign aim to reduce the number of car accidents that occur on Maryland roadways.

The average year between collisions in Baltimore is 4.49, while the relative collision likelihood compared to the national average is about 142%. The Allstate report explains that drivers in America’s safest cities are almost four times less likely to be involved in a crash compared to those in communities on the lower end of the ranking…
