BETHESDA, Md. (DC News Now) — The prinicipal of Walter Johnson High School sent a letter to families in the school community making sure they were aware that a student found a swastika on Friday.
They symbol, associated with the Nazi Party and hate groups, was on a classroom desk. The student told the teacher who, in turn, reported it to the administration.

Principal Nicole J. Morgan wrote in her letter: “The presence of this symbol is highly inappropriate, unacceptable, and deeply offensive; it stands in contradiction to the core values of Walter Johnson High School and MCPS. We are actively pursuing appropriate actions in accordance with MCPS hate-bias protocols. Those responsible will receive consequences as appropriate and consistent with the Montgomery County Public Schools Code of Conduct.”
