A new Mediterranean and Persian restaurant, Silk Route, is in the works at 4839 Del Ray Ave. in downtown Bethesda, the former home of longtime Mexican restaurant Tia Queta. A permit was recently issued for a $500,000 renovation of the space.
Tia Queta closed earlier this year after more than four decades in Bethesda. The restaurant opened around 1980 and became a longtime fixture in the community, known for its traditional Mexican cuisine and welcoming atmosphere.
