PGPD identifies man found in wooded area after deadly Silver Spring shooting

PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — The Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD) is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information after a man died in a shooting in Silver Spring on Saturday.

PGPD said on Sept. 14, around 4 p.m., police officers responded to a shooting in the 9200 block of New Hampshire Ave.

There, officers discovered 35-year-old Carlos Alberto Ortiz, of Silver Spring, suffering from gunshot wounds in a wooded area.

Ortiz died at the scene.

Homicide detectives are working to determine a motive for the shooting and identify those involved.
