WASHINGTON (7News) — Washington, D.C., is marking what would have been former Mayor Marion Barry’s 89th birthday.
Mayor Muriel Bowser acknowledged the occasion Thursday morning, posting about Barry’s contributions to the District on X.
“It’s a great day to honor the legacy of Mayor Marion Barry,” Bowser wrote in the social media post. “This morning, we’re celebrating the opening of three new Black-owned businesses in the Great Ward 8, and tonight, the application closes for the Marion Barry Summer Youth Employment Program.”…
