Virginia parents go out of town leaving child alone for 5 days

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Two parents were arrested in Bristow, Virginia for leaving their child home alone for five days.

On Thursday, officers with Prince William County were dispatched to the 10500 block of Andrew Humphreys Court after concluding their investigation into a 12-year-old reportedly left unsupervised at the home for several days.

On March 3, officials at the child’s school contacted the parents. During the phone call they learned the parents were out of town. School officials notified the school resource officer (SRO). The SRO then went to the child’s home to learn that he had been left unsupervised since Feb. 27 until police were notified on March 3…
