Wave of Auto Theft and Unauthorized Vehicle Use Leads to Multiple Arrests in Washington, DC

Recent reports by the Metropolitan Police Department reveal a string of arrests linked to unauthorized vehicle usage and auto theft across various neighborhoods in Washington, DC. According to the official announcement by the Metropolitan Police Department, which details the offenses and the accused, the incidents occurred over several days with multiple individuals taken into custody.

On March 14, authorities apprehended 25-year-old Malik Bristol in the 900 block of Florida Avenue, NW, on grounds of unauthorized use of a vehicle. Not far, in Northeast DC, 22-year-old Raul Rivera and 27-year-old Luis Martinez, both without a fixed address, were also taken into custody under the same allegations at the intersection of Minnesota Avenue, NE & Nannie Helen Burroughs Avenue, NE. According to a Metropolitan Police Department release, offenses continued into the following days with several juveniles among those arrested.

Last Saturday’s arrests included a 16-year-old from Southeast, DC, and 19-year-old Damarco Jackson, also lacking a permanent address, both accused of unauthorized vehicle use on the 4200 block of 4TH Street, SE. Additionally, 28-year-old Paul Jordan was arrested at the same location. The subsequent day, a 41-year-old Carl Lloyd was charged on New Jersey Avenue, NW, while two 30-year-olds, Jaquan Johnson from Northeast DC, and Gregory Tutson were implicated in related offenses in different parts of the city…
