Celebrating federal workers at L’Enfant Plaza

WASHINGTON — On Monday morning, commuters passing by the L’Enfant Plaza Metro Station were met with a wave of appreciation as federal workers were celebrated for their hard work and dedication.

Hosted by the IAM Union (International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers), the National Federation of Federal Employees (NFFE-IAM), and their labor and community allies, the event was a heartfelt thank you to those who keep the country running.

From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., volunteers gathered outside the station, engaging with commuters and holding signs for federal employees. The event aimed to shine a spotlight on the essential services provided by federal workers, from healthcare professionals caring for veterans to wildland firefighters protecting communities and park rangers safeguarding national treasures…
