MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Following a months-long investigation, the Maryland Office of Attorney General (OAG) announced Monday that an officer will not be charged after a deadly shooting in Silver Spring last year.
The shooting took place in Montgomery County in May of 2024. Minutes before midnight, officers with the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to the Hampton Point apartments in the 3300 block of Hampton Point Drive for a domestic incident.
The caller told dispatchers that his brother, Bishop Jones-Daniel, and mother were inside the apartment, and his brother had a gun. While on the call, dispatchers heard two loud bangs, and the caller said they were gunshots.
