BALTIMORE (WBFF) — A board dealing with contract disputes with the state is at the center of a retaliation complaint after the former chair believes she is being punished for speaking out about leadership concerns and her husband’s criticism of Gov. Wes Moore.
Beth Brinkley, the former chair and member of the Maryland State Board of Contract Appeals, put the administration on notice this week of her intent to file a whistleblower complaint. Brinkley claims after she raised concerns about the current chair of the board, and her husband – David Brinkley, former Gov. Larry Hogan’s budget director – wrote an op-ed in the Baltimore Sun, she was not nominated for another term.
“Apparently, because we heard from various members of the Senate who shared with him [David Brinkley] offline, we heard that the reason I wasn’t getting reappointed was because of his op-ed piece and his interviews,” Beth Brinkley said during an interview with FOX45 News…
