Gov. Moore signs off on Expungement Reform Act to provide Maryland residents with a clean slate

MARYLAND, USA — In Annapolis, Governor Wes Moore signed off on the Expungement Reform Act of 2025 Tuesday morning.

The legislation makes it easier for people to have their criminal records cleared after a certain amount of time has passed since completing their sentence.

This legislation also prohibits Maryland from making any reference to a cannabis possession charge if it was pardoned by the governor. This builds on reforms Moore began last year when he pardoned 175,000 marijuana convictions…
