Man Caught With Loaded Uzi And Handgun During Anne Arundel Traffic Stop

MILLERSVILLE, Md. — A Millersville man is facing multiple handgun charges after a routine traffic stop on Friday, May 2, 2025, led to the discovery of two loaded firearms, including a semi-automatic Uzi equipped with a drum magazine, according to Anne Arundel County Police.

Shortly after 2:30 p.m., an Anne Arundel County Police officer initiated a traffic stop on a blue Ford F-150 traveling along Veterans Highway near Benfield Road in Millersville. During the stop, police say a search of the vehicle uncovered a loaded .40 caliber Springfield handgun containing 15 rounds, as well as a .22 caliber Carl Walther Uzi with a drum magazine holding 11 rounds.

The driver, identified as James Francis Roberts, 43, of Millersville, was taken into custody at the scene. Both firearms were seized as evidence, and Roberts was later charged with two misdemeanor counts: possession of a handgun in a vehicle and possession of a loaded handgun in a vehicle…
