Stolen Tech And Late-Night Tampering Land Two In Calvert Lockup

DUNKIRK, Md. — A Silver Spring man remains in custody at the Calvert County Detention Center after a string of overnight thefts and vehicle tampering across multiple neighborhoods ended in a police pursuit and arrest. Emmanuel Adjapong Mellish, 21, is facing a six-count misdemeanor docket after authorities linked him to a coordinated vehicle burglary operation in northern Calvert County.

According to charging documents filed May 8, 2025, deputies with the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office began receiving reports of suspicious activity around 11 p.m. the night prior. A homeowner on Fielder Drive in Dunkirk reported that both her Kia Sorento and Subaru Crosstrek had been entered during the early hours of May 8. Although nothing was taken, the vehicles showed signs of having been thoroughly rummaged through.

Roughly two hours later, another resident reported that two suspects had walked down his driveway and entered his parked vehicles — a white Chevrolet Cruze and a black GMC pickup truck. According to the report, the suspects stole a Samsung Galaxy Note in an Otterbox case, valued at approximately $1,150, as well as $12 in coins.
