Back in October, we shared that Trader Joe’s would be opening at 225 N. Washington St. in Rockville Town Square, taking over the former Dawson’s Market space, which closed last summer after twelve years. Recently, Rockville Mayor Monique Ashton posted a photo of the grocery store nearly completed, and an employee from a nearby location indicated that a mid-June opening is possible.
Trader Joe’s is known for its unique, affordable products, friendly atmosphere, and focus on organic and specialty items. Although the company has not confirmed an official opening date, mid-June– with June 12 mentioned as a potential date– has been suggested on multiple occasions.
Meanwhile, parking lot improvements near Trader Joe’s are underway and are expected to be completed by June 10.
