In the summer of 2019, we announced that Bear Brick Oven Pizza would take over the old Greek Islands Grill location on New Hampshire Avenue in Cloverly. After delays due to COVID, the restaurant finally opened its doors in April 2021. Now, owner George “Bear” Jarrell has informed us that his tenure will end on June 29, with the restaurant’s future remaining uncertain.
Bear Brick Oven Co. became known for its signature pizzas and diverse menu featuring salads, sandwiches, and other entrees. The restaurant also offers a selection of local craft beers. Popular menu items include the classic Brick Oven Cheese Pizza, the meat-lover’s delight “The Spencerville Pizza,” a Basket of Fries, and a steak & cheese dish reminiscent of those sold at Jerry’s—a nod to Jarrell’s past tenure there…
