Eater DC has recently updated its list of “Best Pizza Places in DC” and the list includes four standout restaurants that can be found in Maryland. The list showcases a diverse range of styles, including “wood-fired Neapolitan pizza, New York slices, Detroit-style squares, and free-form Roman pies.”

All Purpose Pizza (AP Pizza) has a location in Maryland at 4747 Bethesda Avenue, Bethesda, MD 20814. The chef, Mike Friedman, is a resident of Olney, MD and drew inspiration for All-Purpose from his youth in New York and New Jersey. Red Hound Pizza is a new pizzeria at 7050 Carroll Ave. in Takoma Park, MD, opened by partners Charbel Abrache and Andrea Alvarez, who are alums of Seylou Bakery. They offer unique square pizzas that blend Roman and Sicilian styles, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients, including freshly milled flour.
