Metro police arrest man after altercation at Wheaton station

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — A man was arrested on Wednesday night after an incident at the Wheaton Metro station, police said.

Around 10:15 p.m. on Aug. 27, Metro Transit Police Department responded after a man was reportedly antagonizing a station manager and a group of people.

As the situation escalated, the suspect then tried to fight with the group until one person acted in self-defense and punched him, according to MTPD.

The man had been previously banned just days prior for threatening Metro employees; he is now banned for 90 days after trespassing…
