Fire breaks out on top floor of Montgomery County, Md. apartment, 1 injured

DERWOOD, Md. (7News) — An adult was rescued and is among several people displaced after a fire broke out inside an apartment in the Derwood area of Montgomery County, Maryland, on Thursday, according to county fire and rescue officials.

Roughly 70 firefighters responded to a fire that started in the bathroom of a third-floor apartment on the 8100 block of Needwood Road after being dispatched at around 8:30 p.m.

Officials said the fire was put under control and did not expand to other apartments or onto the roof of the building…
