Maryland Issues Executive Order to Create Affordable Housing on State-Owned Properties

Maryland Governor Wes Moore signed an executive order meant to create more affordable housing, reports Hannah Hoffman in WBAL.

According to Hoffman, “Under the order, the state will identify state-owned properties for transit-oriented and new housing development. The focus will be on areas in prime locations.” The order also creates a new state housing ombudsman to help streamline the permitting process for housing. “If you want to attract new businesses, start with housing,” Moore said…
