One person dead following motorcycle crash in Maryland

MARYLAND — A motorcyclist was killed and a teenage passenger critically injured Tuesday evening after fleeing deputies and crashing into another vehicle on Route 4 near the Anne Arundel County line, authorities said.

Deputies attempted to stop the sport bike in Dunkirk just before 8 p.m., but the rider sped away. The pursuit was called off minutes later when the motorcycle entered oncoming lanes.

Moments later, deputies discovered a serious two-vehicle collision in the southbound lanes near Talbot Road. The male operator of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. His teenage passenger, who was not wearing a helmet, was flown to a trauma center with multiple fractures…
