On October 21, 2025, the Maryland Department of the Environment announced more than $5 million in grants for electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. The funding will support new charging stations at 23 workplace sites and 12 transportation corridor locations across the state.
Regions receiving grants include Baltimore City, the Eastern Shore, and Western Maryland. Allocations include $1.2 million for fast chargers in Hagerstown and Hancock, $650,000 for the Eastern Shore, and $250,000 for chargers in nine Baltimore City parking garages.
