Outback Steakhouse has closed its Downtown Silver Spring location just a year and a half after opening, according to Source of the Spring.
The restaurant, located at 8661 Colesville Road, occupied the space that was previously home to Not Your Average Joe’s. According to the report, all Outback signage has now been removed, and a “Now Closed” notice has been posted on the door. The store has also been removed from the Outback website.
The Australian-themed casual dining restaurant opened in April 2024, bringing its signature steaks, ribs, and Bloomin’ Onions to the Downtown Silver Spring. Its closure follows the February 2024 shutdown of the chain’s long-running Germantown location at 12609 Wisteria Drive, which had operated for more than 30 years in the Germantown Square shopping center.
