Some public schools in Prince George’s County, Maryland, will now offer students hot meals in the afternoons as the government shutdown continues to stretch family budgets.
Prince George’s County Public Schools said its new After School Hot Supper Program will replace the standard cold bagged meals students have previously received after class.
Hot meals will be served at schools with a Free and Reduced-Price Meals (FARMS) rate of 50% or higher and that have at least 75 students enrolled in after-school programs, PGCPS said…
