BOWIE, Md. (DC News Now) — Some businesses in the Bowie Town Center are feeling the pinch caused by the federal government shutdown.
Workers at Bowie Town Barbers are seeing fewer customers; many of their clients are on furlough and can’t afford to get a haircut.
Derrick Millhouse says he typically does twelve haircuts a day, but that number has dropped to three or four. Many of his clients in Prince George’s County are on furlough and can’t afford haircuts.
“I’ve noticed a significant drop off in walk-ins, but I get it. When you have kids and a mortgage, some things are more important than getting a haircut,” Millhouse said…
