‘No coffee’: McDonald’s in Montgomery County closes after coffee machine catches on fire

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A McDonald’s restaurant in Montgomery County had to close after a coffee machine malfunctioned on Wednesday night.

The Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) was called to the restaurant, located on Viers Mill Road near Heritage Park Circle, after the coffee machine in the kitchen caught on fire.

Pete Piringer, MCFRS spokesperson, said the fire started because the coffee machine malfunctioned and burned up.

The fire did not extend anywhere else, there were no injuries and there was “no coffee,” Piringer said…
