Man dies in hospital after crash on I-495 in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — An investigation is underway after a crash on Interstate 495 in Montgomery County left a man dead on Sunday.

Troopers responded to the single-vehicle crash on westbound I-495 prior to Georgia Avenue around midnight. There, police learned that a Ford Econoline (van) was traveling west on the highway when it traveled off the roadway and struck trees, according to officials.

Maryland State Police said responders rushed a 32-year-old man to a hospital in Virginia, where he later died. Officials have not yet released the man’s name.
