LA PLATA, Md. — An Upper Marlboro woman is facing multiple fraud and theft charges after authorities alleged she used another person’s personal and financial information to steal thousands of dollars over several months in Charles County.
Court records show Brittany Moten, 31, has been charged with felony identity fraud involving $1,500 to under $25,000, felony theft in the same amount range, and misdemeanor conspiracy counts related to both identity fraud and theft. A criminal summons was issued on Dec. 22, 2025.
According to charging documents, the alleged offenses occurred between Sept. 5 and Dec. 19, 2025, and involved the unauthorized use of another individual’s personal identifying and banking information.
