ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Wes Moore has introduced a major legislative initiative aimed at boosting Maryland’s economic standing and attracting private investment through the Delivering Economic Competitiveness and Advancing Development Efforts (DECADE) Act of 2026.
The legislation focuses on Maryland’s “lighthouse industries”—key sectors such as life sciences, aerospace, and quantum computing—by modernizing state programs and extending high-impact incentives. Governor Moore emphasized that a clear economic strategy is essential for a competitive state, noting that the act is designed to create new pathways for innovation and wealth for all Marylanders.
A primary component of the DECADE Act is the extension of the Build Our Future Grant Program through 2030. This program provides matching grants of up to $2 million for innovative infrastructure projects in high-growth sectors.
