In a memo released Jan. 8, Macy’s CEO Tony Spring announced the department store chain is continuing to close underproductive stores and streamline operations by shrinking its footprint and reallocating resources as part of its “Bold New Chapter” plan to strengthen their brand and remaining stores.
“In executing our strategy, we continue to review our portfolio and make careful decisions about where and how we invest, including closing underproductive stores and streamlining operations,” Spring stated. “These decisions are not made lightly.”…
