Two Montgomery County Elementary Schools Celebrate Being Named 2025-2026 Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools

Two Montgomery County elementary schools have been recognized for academic excellence and equity after earning 2025-2026 Maryland Blue Ribbon School honors. Wilson Wims Elementary School marked the achievement with a schoolwide celebration on January 7, while Diamond Elementary School followed with its own celebration on January 9.

Wilson Wims Elementary School in Clarksburg and Diamond Elementary School in Gaithersburg were both named Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools for the 2025-2026 school year. The designation recognizes exceptional academic performance on state and national assessments, as well as success in closing achievement gaps among diverse student groups compared to statewide averages.

The recognition comes during the current school year, after the Maryland Blue Ribbon Schools program was reinstated.
