Montgomery County house fire causes $300k in damage

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Several people were left without a home after a fire broke out in Montgomery County on Thursday.

On Jan. 15, firefighters were dispatched to the 2500 block of Sheraton Street, near Terrapin Road in Glenmont. There, crews found heavy flames spreading from the basement of a two-story home.

Pete Piringer, a spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, shared a post on X showing crews battling the blaze. In the footage, the walls of the home were charred, and smoke was seen billowing in the sky.
