PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (7News) — As last week’s winter storm blanketed the region in snow, Prince George’s County Executive Aisha Braveboy and two dozen senior officials stayed at the Hotel at the University of Maryland — a decision now drawing criticism after invoices showed taxpayers covered more than $43,000 for the three-night stay.
Braveboy said in an interview Monday that she moved her emergency team into the hotel so they could make rapid decisions as the storm intensified and the county’s main administration building remained closed following an electrical fire.
