Former State of Maryland child support employee from Baltimore County sentenced to jail for three-job timesheet fraud

BALTIMORE, MD—A former Maryland state employee who claimed to be working for the Prince George’s County Child Support Administration while simultaneously working two other jobs has been ordered to pay $42,000 in restitution and serve time in jail.

Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced this week that Brittany Kyonna Worthy, 37, of Randallstown, pleaded guilty to felony theft between $25,000 and $100,000. The conviction followed an investigation by the Maryland Department of Human Services Office of the Inspector General and the Attorney General’s Fraud and Corruption Unit.

Investigators discovered that between November 2022 and July 2024, Worthy exploited her telework status as a child support specialist to maintain undisclosed outside employment. Data showed 350 instances where Worthy’s state timesheets overlapped with her other roles, including several days where she claimed to be working all three jobs at the same time…
