FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (7News) — A Fairfax County judge sentenced Juliana Peres Magalhaes to 10 years in prison Friday for her role in the killings of Christine Banfield and Joe Ryan, rejecting prosecutors’ recommendation that she receive time served and be deported.
Peres Magalhaes’s lawyer said she will get credit for the two-plus years she has already served. After she completes her sentence, she will be placed on probation.
“I know my remorse cannot bring you peace,” Peres Magalhaes said. “I pray for forgiveness, and I have never forgave myself.”…
