A 20-year-old Laurel student is facing 24 misdemeanor charges after police said a hidden recording device was found in a women’s bathroom at Anne Arundel Community College’s Arnold campus in a case first reported by The Capital.
According to charging documents, a faculty member found the device on February 12 in a single-stall bathroom in the Cade Center for Fine Arts. Police said she had used the same restroom earlier in the day and did not see the device, but discovered it later near the back of a toilet seat and removed it.
Investigators said campus surveillance footage helped identify the student. Police allege the student was seen taking an item from a backpack before entering the women’s bathroom, then remained in the building and appeared to watch events unfold on a cellphone before leaving after the device was discovered…
