Silver Spring man dies after being hit by car in Montgomery County

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — Police in Montgomery County are investigating after an 80-year-old Silver Spring man was hit by a car and killed.

The Montgomery County Department of Police (MCPD) said that on Feb. 11, 2026, around 9:45 p.m., officers responded to the area of East-West Highway and Washington Avenue after someone reported that a pedestrian had been hit.

Guilty verdict for DC man in fatal shooting near Walgreens

MCPD believes that Roland Singleton was crossing East-West Highway when a car driving in the eastbound lanes hit him.

Responders took Singleton to a nearby hospital. He died due to his injuries on Saturday, Feb. 21…
