Brookside Nature Center in Wheaton is adjusting its schedule this spring and summer as Montgomery Parks completes several major improvements to the facility.
Beginning immediately, the Nature Center will operate on a limited weekend schedule while crews complete upgrades that include a new roof, a custom artist mural in the children’s discovery room, and a new digital exhibit display designed to provide more interactive experiences for visitors. The temporary schedule change is expected to remain in place through August 2026. Under the new hours, the Nature Center will be open:
- Saturdays from 10am to 4pm
- Sundays from 12pm to 4pm
The facility will be closed Wednesday through Friday during this period except for scheduled programming. Brookside Nature Center, including its parking lot, will also be closed for the entire month of April while construction work takes place.
