Driver to be sentenced for deadly birthday party crash

BLADENSBURG, Md. — A deadly crash that turned a child’s birthday party into chaos last year is back in the spotlight in Prince George’s County. The man accused of plowing into a crowed of partygoers in Bladensburg is due back in court Thursday for a plea hearing.

Sunday Joseph, 66, is expected to present his guilty plea to the court on Thursday, and a judge will be passing down a sentence shortly after.

According to prosecutors, on Oct. 18, 2025, Joseph traveled full speed in reverse from Annapolis Road into the front yard of a home on 56th Avenue in Bladensburg, where a child’s birthday party was taking place. He then reportedly got out of the car, staggered, and ran from the scene…
