Former Prince George’s County deputy gets 90 days in gun-related incident

A now-former Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office deputy who resisted arrest at the Hollywood Casino in Perryville while armed, intoxicated and off-duty is serving a 90-day jail term after a judge found him guilty of 11 criminal charges Thursday at the conclusion of a bench trial.

At one point during the protracted Feb. 7 incident, Perryville Police Department Cpl. Themis Speis pointed his agency-issued handgun at the defendant — Anthony R. Jones, 37, of Upper Marlboro — in the vestibule to prevent Jones from entering the crowded casino while intoxicated with a loaded handgun holstered at his hip.
