SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – One of two men charged in a high-profile shooting in Sioux Falls is on trial for murder. Lamont Burks Junior and another man are accused of opening fire at Dunham Park on August 25th of 2024, killing 29-year-old Joshua Allen Jr. and injuring three others.
The case gained significant attention because it occurred at a popular sports park in broad daylight. Jury selection is underway with opening statements expected next week at the Minnehaha County Courthouse.
