Feeding South Dakota prepares for summer

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Kids are out of school for the summer, and that means food organizations could see a greater need.

As summer approaches and kids are out of school, many families are feeling added strain on their food budgets.

Are Sioux Falls pools seeing attendance growth?

“We can see some spikes during those times where they may need to have access to additional food to get through the week,” Feeding South Dakota CEO, Lori Dykstra said.

To help meet that need, the Sioux Falls School District is providing free breakfast and lunch for students throughout the summer…
