BID plan alters taxation for some downtown properties

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) – Some properties in downtown Sioux Falls would be paying the Business Improvement District (BID) tax or more of the tax under a change approved by the Downtown Sioux Falls Business Improvement District Board.

The BID tax goes toward paying for development services downtown and the DTSF ambassador program.

Twenty properties will be affected by this change. These properties will now have to pay the BID tax or more BID tax as a result of their location in the downtown area. These exemptions have remained unaltered since 1989, when they were first established…
